First week of summer fun!

Summer has been a bit of a gloomy one so far. Overcast and drizzly in the morning and burning off late in the afternoon. So I hope we soon get the heat wave before Ellie goes back to school and stays all day long as a new First Grader!!!!

Saddleback Half Marathon

photo

This was my favorite race ever! And I owe it all to the last minute decision to run a half marathon without even training for it! I decided on Saturday to register, and then come Monday morning I was up at 5:30 getting ready to run 13.1 miles! Crazy!!!

This is what made it so much fun!

1) no training involved

2) stress free (didn’t have time to!)

3)Didn’t have to keep a certain race pace to finish at a certain time because I never did #1

4) probably got the best sleep ever before a race because I wasn’t worried about it

5)Got to run with a really fun gal, that made running 13.1 miles look easy

I will definitely do this next year, and hopefully not train for it either because let me tell you, it was a whole lot better just showing up and running it to finish then trying to race it!

I think I have aged a lot just in this post….
