Earrings

So recently, Amerie has taken a close liking to her earrings. A too close liking in my opinion. She will pull on the backs and pop them right out of her ear, leaving me and James to scrounge around her bedroom floor and crib every morning to find these small little things. I have tried and tried to tell Ames not to take them out. I have even put her on time out to no avail..
Recently, she has been putting them in her diaper. So for the last couple of days, when we go to get her in the morning, we immediately change her diaper and amazingly, the backs are in her diaper and the rest is in her crib.
Well, it gets better! Saturday, I go into Ames room and I immediately see that she has her earrings out of her ears. So I put her on timeout and go back in to find them. I can't so then I go get Ames off timeout, talk to her about why she had been on timeout and how it is no okay to take her earrings out. So I go to lie her down and I say "Ames where are your earrings?" She points to her nose and says "nose". I brush it off and open her diaper to find no earrings. Then it hits me, I look in her nose and see a bright gold back to an earring wedged up her nose! What a TURKEY!!!
I am so mad right now, but so want to laugh!
So I try to get it out with tweezers, put she moves and I move it up more her nose and James is gone so I can't do it by myself! And I DO NOT want to go to the walk-in at the DR.S on a Saturday morning...finally after a half an hour I remember my father-in-law telling me that he had to plug one side of Ellie's nose and blow into her mouth to get the piece of candy out she had put up there, I decided to try.
I layed Ames on the couch, plugged one of her nostrils and blew in her mouth and POP! It came out!
And yes, this morning James had to do it to both nostrils...

Amerie and Zane

First the innocent and loving kiss!

Second, the tug on already mom-enforced pigtails

Last but not least, The Culprit: Zane. No wonder these two are always fighting...

Birthday Party

So on Sunday, the week of Ellie's birthday, we wanted to celebrate with our family and some close friends. My intention was to keep it real simple and low key, but with a group of four-year olds, there is never a dull moment. It ended up being a hoot! Here are the details:

All the kids dressed up! And had fun bouncing..
Addison (Cinderella), Ryan (binoculars), Ethan (Fireman), Ellie (Tinkerbell) and Luke (police/sword warrior)

Amerie had to get her own shot!

Pinata, that was way too stiff...

But with the help of Tio Clay, (who by the way broke the Nerf bat) we finally got the dang thing opened!

Birthday Party

My sister Camilla, made the Princess cake...
Just one of her favorite pasttimes...she's amazing!

This look says it all!

And this one

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate Ellie's Birthday!
I know she had a blast!

Happy Birthday Ellie

So Friday, the 29th of May, one little excited girl woke up at 5:30 am and came to me and asked "am I four yet?" She was so excited for her birthday it had to start early! So she went right to business with opening her gifts.
"Pinkalicious" for a girl who LOVES Pink!
A Sleeping Beauty vanity I bought after Christmas and had to hide in our garage for 5 months. James is so glad that huge box isn't in his way anymore...

Then off to the movies with her best So Cal cousins, Ethan and Luke! I think she loves these boys so much because she is the only girl in our family that can play the"damsel in distress" when together at family functions and the boys want to play pirates! And trust me, she plays it well!

Happy Birthday Ellie

After the movie, we went over to Disneyland and got our faces painted. Everytime we walked by the paint station, Ellie always asked to get her face painted and I always said "on your birthday". She was super excited it was finally her birthday!
Amerie of course wanted something too!

Ethan got a dragon!

Here are the kids with their treasures...Luke didn't want to get his face painted. And Ames is just loving being part of the "big kid" club!

Ellie used her Disney money to buy a Tinkerbell dress!
