Tagged

So this is the first time I am doing this, since I am not too fond of this game, even though I like to read other people's tagged responses. But since this is the first, I will participate.

Here are six quirky things about me and the six people I TAG!!

1. I have to have clean feet before going to bed. So if I feel the slight inclination that my feet are dirty, then I Have to wash them no matter what! Especially camping...

2. I drink pasteurized egg product for my protein in the morning. I know, I know, you are probably thinking "how disgusting you are" but it is the easiest way to get my eggs in without scrambling them all up and having a HUGE plate of yucky egg whites. Its actually not bad, try it!

3. I always have to have a shade shirt underneath my shirt or else I feel complete nakedness. Something I picked up after having Ellie. It just feels comfortable even though it seems to be four pieces of clothing sometimes...G's, bra, shade shirt, then shirt

4. I hate having wash cloths or sponges not ringed out and laid out to dry. It annoys me to find dirty, water filled sponges in the sink-yuck!

5. I will throw out any clothes that has a stain on them. I just never liked to see a stain on my clothes, it would bug me the rest of the day.

6. I have a nervous habit of chewing my fingers...HELP!

Anyone who would love to participate:Welcome!

Then we hung out at the beach where Cheryl, Brandon and Preston body boarded and caught some awesome waves!! Of course a trip to Cali wouldn't be the same for Cheryl's fav, Red Robin! Yum! Thanks guys for the fun weekend! Ellie LOVED playing with her cousins!!! And Ames already misses her Uncle Brandon, "hey, where is that scary guy?" Come back soon!

Family Fun!

Visit from Bubba and Nother Bubba

James' parents who just recently were released from their mission in Nauvoo, came to spend a couple of days with the girls. Ellie quickly recruited Nother Bubba to come out to her house and play...of course Ames had to be right behind!
Ellie loved playing princesses with her Bubba and especially the new game that she got, "pretty, pretty princess"

Ellie and Amerie were just so happy having their "Bubbas" here to play with them. The weekend was so nice and calm. I could not believe how much Ellie just wanted to play with her Grandparents. She awoke every morning wanting to see Bubba, and so she would go down stairs and wait for their door to open. At one time, they were sleeping in way to long for a early riser toddler, so she started to sing to Bubba to wake up! I have to admit, I have the best in-laws in the world! They played and played and played with the girls the whole time, I don't think Ellie ever went on timeout for the whole weekend and never did she ask to watch T.V.!!! She still calls the guest room "Bubba's room", so Bubba you are welcome anytime!!!

Summer Activities

James and Ellie having a mini camp out in the backyard! Movies, popcorn, what a special treat.
James didn't quite fit in Ellie's little tent, so we had to do some compromising...
Our special day at the beach!
Ames in her brazilian bikini that my mom brought back from Brazil. Notice that her swim diaper comes further up her stomach than her bikini does...something about Brazil and showing off more skin. Maybe i should venture out and see what their swim diapers look like...Ellie insisted on wearing her rain boots to the beach, smart girl! They worked wonders in the hot sand!!! Another Brazilian bikini, Mom, James says "No more bikini's"!!! But she looks soo cute!

Why We Need To Protect Marriage!

My sister Camilla, posted this write up on her blog and I could not ignore the fact that we need to spread this around to everyone so we know the intensity that this will have on our country. Whether you live in California or not, eventually this will spread to all the States. Please read on and show your support in any way possible!!

Six Consequences the Coalition Has Identified If Proposition 8 Fails
1. Children in public schools will have to be taught that same-sex marriage is just as good as traditional marriage. The California Education Code already requires that health education classes instruct children about marriage. (51890)
Therefore, unless Proposition 8 passes, children will be taught that marriage is between any two adults regardless of gender. There will be serious clashes between the secular school system and the right of parents to teach their children their own values and beliefs.
2. Churches may be sued over their tax exempt status if they refuse to allow same-sex marriage ceremonies in their religious buildings open to the public. Ask whether your pastor, priest, minister, bishop, or rabbi is ready to perform such marriages in your chapels and sanctuaries.3. Religious adoption agencies will be challenged by government agencies to give up their long-held right to place children only in homes with both a mother and a father. Catholic Charities in Boston already closed its doors in Massachusetts because courts legalized same-sex marriage there.4.Religions that sponsor private schools with married student housing may be required to provide housing for same-sex couples, even if counter to church doctrine, or risk lawsuits over tax exemptions and related benefits.5.Ministers who preach against same-sex marriages may be sued for hate speech and risk government fines. It already happened in Canada, a country that legalized gay marriage. A recent California court held that municipal employees may not say: “traditional marriage”, or “family values” because, after the same-sex marriage case, it is “hate speech”.6. It will cost you money. This change in the definition of marriage will bring a cascade of lawsuits, including some already lost (e.g. photographers cannot now refuse to photograph gay marriages, doctors cannot now refuse to perform artificial insemination of gays even given other willing doctors). Even if courts eventually find in favor of a defender of traditional marriage (highly improbable given today’s activist judges), think of the money – your money — that will be spent on such legal battles.
And think of all the unintended consequences that we cannot even foresee at this time. Where will it end? It’s your children, your grandchildren, your money, and your liberties. Lets work together to protect them. Join with us in walking precincts and phoning voters to vote Yes on Prop. 8.
This was a handout we received recently. It gives me the chills. I don't mean to sound all drama or anything but this feels so big to me. These consequences are scary of themselves but its the ones that I can't foresee that frighten me even more. I was told about a documentary, Demographic Winter, made by a group of scholars (non-LDS) who discuss the economic and social consequences of the decline of the family.
